Community Hour is a rotating evening series at Moncus Park designed to bring neighbors together through shared experiences and meaningful connection. Featuring activities such as trivia, family game nights, cultural gatherings, and drum circles, each event fosters a sense of belonging in an open, welcoming outdoor setting.
Free and open to all ages, Community Hour invites the community to gather, engage, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Acadiana.
Summer 2026 Programs
Language Cafe
A monthly cultural gathering where language and community meet. Each session highlights a different culture, hosted with international students and local cultural organizations. June: Creole Culture. July: South Asian Heritage Month. August: African Languages and Culture.

Family Game Night
Outdoor fun and friendly competition with classic and oversized games - chess, checkers, Connect 4, Jenga, tic-tac-toe, and cornhole. No registration or equipment needed, just show up and play.
