One on One with Eman Boyd

Meet Eman Boyd.

This familiar face is no stranger to the communications world. Whether she is behind the lens or in front of the camera, Eman is known to provide top quality coverage unto you to tell the story. Eman is the Owner/Operator of E. Boyd Productions. This Opelousas, LA native is skilled in not only photography but also videography.

What inspires us about Eman is that she is an awardwinning producer that aspires to bring community stories to life through visual aide. Her work has received both state and national recognition and she’s truly unstoppable. Let’s learn more about Eman.

What was your initial reaction when you received confirmation to appear in our inaugural blog?

I was ecstatic to apart of the inaugural blog! It gives young entrepreneurs like myself an opportunity to share their art with Acadiana and beyond.

How did your photography journey begin?

My photography journey began when I was a sophomore in college at UL Lafayette. Because I had my own equipment, I routinely helped my peers shoot their content for classes. When I began getting inquiries for professional shoots, it took off from there!

Which photographers influenced you, and how did they influence your thinking, photographing, and career path?

Some of the photographers that influence me are Don Hogan Charles, Blair Caldwell, Ebunoluwa Akinbo, and Raven B. Varona (“Ravie B”) Each of their unique styles have influenced how to capture the essence of a subject. Part of my reason for choosing my career in broadcast journalism is by telling the story of people through their perspective.

What technology/software/camera gear do you use to keep focused on what you do best, as you photograph?

I primarily use Adobe Premiere for editing, and for shooting I alternate between my Cannon 77D and Cannon 6D mark ii.

How do you get your photography to say what you want to say without using words?

By capturing a subject’s natural beauty, whether it’s their style or personality.

What do you envision when you hear “Landscape View”?

When I hear “Landscape View” I envision greenery, peaceful, and uplifting.

What do you look forward to most capturing at Christmas in the Park ?

I look forward to capturing aesthetics of the Christmas spirit through the decorations, park-goers having a great time!
