Park at Horse Farm Seeks Input on the Park’s Design

Lafayette Central Park Inc.’s successful “It’s My Park!” campaign continues this week with a second phase of community forums being held from November 19-21. These forums will allow LCP to explain the results of the initial forums, check in with the public to ensure that the program list is narrowed down in a way that the public agrees with and understands, and continue to sharpen the focus on items that received mixed results. The forums will include a visual preference survey allowing people input on the broad design, for example contemporary, rustic, French, etc. Key pad polling will be utilized to determine the size of some park elements. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, even if they weren’t able to participate in the first workshops or survey.E.B. Brooks, LCP’s Director of Planning and Design said of the forums, “The community response to our requests for input has been tremendous—both at our first phase of forums and through the online survey. Ideas poured in about what people want to see in the park in both park elements and programming. We are very excited about this second phase which continues to utilize community input to shape the park as we work towards the final design. Over 2,000 people participated in input phase and we would like to see even greater participation this week.”
