Tuesday the Lafayette City-Parish Council voted to support House Bill 992. The bill authored by Lafayette State Representative (R) Joel Robideaux provides the Horse Farm and adjacent properties with an exemption from the state’s public lease law. So it really just takes us out of that public lease process; that really just really kind of ties up a lot of legal fees and a lot of time on the administrations part,” says Brooks.
