Christmas in the Park Returns to Moncus Park for Three Magical Nights
Lafayette’s favorite holiday tradition returns as First Horizon Bank presents Christmas in the Park at Moncus Park, December 13-15, 2024. This three-night celebration transforms Lafayette’s premier greenspace into a winter wonderland filled with music, lights, and family entertainment.
The First Horizon Amphitheater comes alive with the sounds of local favorites, presented by Acadiana Bottling Company. Friday night features the Grammy award-winning Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, while Saturday showcases Gerald Gruenig and Gentilly Zydeco. The celebration concludes Sunday with a special screening of “The Grinch,” presented by Cajun Carts.
Adding to the magic, Our Lady of Lourdes Children’s Health presents Sneauxville, where children can experience real snow in South Louisiana. For just $5 per child, little ones can enjoy unlimited snow play throughout the evening on December 13 and 14.
Families will find a wonderland of activities throughout the park. Santa’s Workshop, presented by Love Our Schools, offers free activities including the Bubbles Bus Acadiana and Santa letter writing. Visitors can capture memories with Santa photos (presented by Whataburger), enjoy treats at the Rader Solutions S’mores Station, and warm up with hot chocolate supported by Roots Pediatric Dentistry.
Getting to the celebration is simple with Service Chevrolet Cadillac’s free shuttle service from Blackham Coliseum (305 Coliseum Road). Alternatively, visitors can choose on-site parking for $20, supporting park operations. Local food trucks will offer a variety of dining options, while a full beverage menu includes seasonal specialties for both adults and children.
