MONCUS PARK UNVEILS A JAM-PACKED SUMMER SCHEDULE!

Gear up for an action-packed summer at Moncus Park! We’re rolling out a fun-filled lineup of events for everyone in the community, from invigorating fitness sessions to enchanting theatrical performances, a Veterans event, special celebrations and more! All events are free and open to the public.

Weekly Programs

 Fit For All Fitness Series presented by Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists & Orthopedic Urgent Care

The “Fit For All” Fitness Series, sponsored by Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialists & Orthopedic Urgent Care, brings health-focused activities to Moncus Park, promoting well-being and community engagement. Enjoy our free, inclusive sessions, including yoga and children’s fitness with storytime, designed to support physical and mental health for all ages.

Mom Walks presented by Lafayette Pediatric Dentistry

Join “Mom Walks” with Acadiana Baby Steps, proudly presented by Lafayette Pediatric Dentistry, and immerse yourself in a growing community of Lafayette mothers dedicated to embracing motherhood and the beauty of the outdoors. Our gatherings at Moncus Park feature walking, picnicking, and building a nurturing network for moms at various stages of their motherhood adventure.

The Community Hour

The Community Hour at Moncus Park is a vibrant program that unites the community through themed social hours, including trivia and game nights. This free program not only fosters connections among diverse groups but also offers fun and engaging ways for all ages to come together, learn, and play.

    • Join us for Dungeons and Dragons (DnD), the iconic tabletop role-playing game, where players embark on mythical adventures in a fantasy world. This series, hosted by the Acadiana Tabletop Guild, is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded enthusiasts, learn the game, and enhance critical thinking and teamwork skills. No experience? No problem! Just bring your creativity and sense of adventure. Experienced players are welcome to bring pre-existing character sheets as adventures will start at level 3. Join us for a journey into the realms of imagination and strategy!

Special Events

 Shakespeare in the Park

  • Dates: June 7, 8, and 9
  • Time: 5:30 PM
  • Experience the magic of Shakespeare under the stars at Moncus Park with the 4th Wall Theatre Company’s production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Delight in this classic comedy filled with love, mischief, and enchantment at the First Horizon Amphitheater.

 Veterans in the Park

  • Date: Friday, June 14
  • Time: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Join us for “Veterans in the Park” on Flag Day, June 14th, hosted by the Moncus Park Veterans Memorial Committee. This day dedicated to remembrance and education will feature a performance of the National Anthem, a keynote address by Johnathan Phillips, Under Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, and a detailed flag-folding demonstration that will explore the symbolic significance of each fold. Light refreshments will be available.

 Reel Fun: Father’s Day Fishing

  • Date: Saturday, June 15
  • Time: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Join us on June 15th for a special Father’s Day fishing event that promises to be a great catch for dads and father figures alike! Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just looking to spend quality time outdoors, “Reel Fun” welcomes all dads, grandpas, uncles, and father figures to enjoy a relaxing day by the water at Moncus Park.

 National Food Truck Day presented by Home Bank

  • Dates: Friday, June 28
  • Time: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Details: Get ready for a fun-filled evening at National Food Truck Day, brought to you by Home Bank! Dive into a delicious assortment from local food trucks offering everything from chicken wings and creole to gourmet sweet treats. Enjoy a drink from our bar and relax to live music by School of Rock, all set in the beautiful surroundings of Moncus Park at sunset. It’s the perfect blend of tasty food, tunes, and togetherness.
