Moncus Park Announces Generous Match for All Donations on South Louisiana Giving Day!
Lafayette, LA, April 5, 2018 —
Moncus Park is participating in a new regional day of philanthropy called South Louisiana Giving Day and is excited to announce a generous match will be made for all donations! Every dollar given to the organization on or before May 10, 2018, will be doubled dollar for dollar, up to $30,000, by an anonymous benefactor.
Construction of Phase 1 of Moncus Park began in March, so this match provides the opportunity for donors to double their impact during this exciting time in Acadiana’s history. The first phase of development will be focused within the front 60 acres of the 100-acre park property and will include walking paths, a pond, gardens, tree houses, a kayak launch, an off-leash dog park, a mini-golf course, a Farmers Market Pavilion, and more.

South Louisiana Giving Day (SOLA) is a 24-hour donation drive sponsored by the Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA), which is being held on Thursday, May 10. Channeling charitable contributions through a user-friendly, online fundraising website, this new “giving day” aims to inspire the community to come together for one day to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the work of Acadiana’s great nonprofit organizations, such as Moncus Park. Donors can either “schedule” their matched donation online beforehand at www.SouthLouisianaGivingDay.org, or wait to visit the website on Thursday, May 10. Either way, donors will double their impact on Moncus Park alongside thousands of other generous Acadiana residents.
