VETERANS MEMORIAL

About the Memorial

🕔 Open daily during park hours: 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM

The Veterans Memorial at Moncus Park is a lasting tribute to the courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and honor of all who have served our country. Open every day, the memorial welcomes visitors, families, and organizations to reflect, remember, and celebrate those who gave so much.

The memorial features a flag court flanked by large tablets commemorating American military participation in key conflicts throughout history. Brick pavers and seat wall inscriptions throughout the space have been sponsored by local veterans and their loved ones as permanent tributes to their service.

Veterans were engaged throughout the planning and design process, ensuring the space serves the full range of military events — from solemn memorial ceremonies and wreath-laying observances to military weddings and holiday celebrations.

"Wow, we have finally made it! The Veterans Memorial at Moncus Park can now celebrate those men and women who have served our country in the U.S. Armed Forces since our War for Independence almost 250 years ago. This beautiful park, which has enhanced our city and community, was made possible by generous and hard-working folks, but would not even be a whisper in the wind without our veterans' service for our country's freedom."

Dr. Jon "Skip" Palmintier Co-Chairman, Veterans Memorial Committee at Moncus Park
