In 2025, the Conservation Club will be adopting the wooded trails of Moncus Park by removing invasive trees and shrubs and stewarding new native plantings for a happier, healthier trail system!\nMeeting Location: Trail Head\nDates and Times:\n\nTuesday, September 2nd, 5:30-6:30 p.m.\nTuesday, October 7th, 5:30-6:30 p.m.\nTuesday, November 4th, 5:30-6:30 p.m. – CANCELLED\n\nFAQ  \nWhat is this club about?\n\nThe Conservation Club provides an outlet for environmental enthusiasts to lend an extra set of hands in preserving Moncus Park’s natural assets.\nClub members will learn from and work alongside key team members and community experts, building lasting relationships and increasing knowledge about park ecosystems and operations.\nThrough Conservation Club, we aim to increase knowledge and passion for our environment at Moncus Park and throughout the Acadiana Region.\n\nWhat do volunteers do on club days?\n\nWork on fun, informative, and meaningful park improvement projects.\nLearn from subject matter experts and explore the processes behind specific natural systems.\nReceive training from park staff on plant identification.\nExperience the park’s natural assets and the operations behind them.\nParticipate in hands-on planting, removal, improvement, and repair projects at the park.\n\nWho should join?\n\nPeople of all ages and abilities who are interested in the outdoors.\nSmall groups, families, or individuals 16 years or older. (Individuals younger than 16 are welcome but must have adult supervision to join).\nIndividuals pursuing experience in outdoor and/or park-related professions.\nAnyone who cares about protecting and enhancing our natural resources.\n\nWhat kind of commitment does the club entail?\n\n2025 Club Days: April 1st, May 6th, September 2nd, October 7th, and November 4th from 5:30-6:30 p.m.\nAll Club participants must sign a park waiver upon arrival.\nClub participants will receive a pass for unpaid parking upon arrival at each session and attendees of multiple workdays will also receive a Moncus Park “VOLUNTEER” t-shirt as a thank you for their commitment to the park.\n\nJoin the Conservation Club and see why our wooded trails project has been a fan favorite among past members! This year, we’re excited to offer five opportunities for you to explore, learn, and help maintain our beautiful trail system.\nThis program is proudly grown and presented by the MJ Sindler Family Fund.\n
